1st Responders Course
If your office corporate or government uses email encryption, secure data storage or even just locks filing cabinets and internal doors then you have information to protect. This information if lost or released could likely have serious consequences of a financial or strategic nature.
However much information that is considered secret is still discussed over unsecured telephones and in boardrooms and offices throughout the world. Some companies and many government agencies take these threats seriously and for good reason.
Using soundproofing, double glazed glass and sophisticated access control systems, these companies work hard to prevent external parties from eavesdropping on confidential conversations. And yet, many of these same companies do not consider the cheapest and often the easiest way of gaining sensitive information – directly planting a surveillance device or monitoring external telephone traffic with electronic surveillance. Companies involved in business in the Asia-Pacific region are particularly vulnerable to electronic surveillance with large amounts of economic espionage activities occurring, some even sponsored by national entities.
Based on the demand seen for TSCM awareness within organisations, the ESD “1st Responders” course is designed to increase knowledge of the various forms of electronic surveillance used by eavesdroppers to gain sensitive information, and the information required to act in the event a surveillance device is detected. This course provides nominated key personnel (called 1st Responders) with the necessary skills to create a better office awareness of electronics surveillance risks and vulnerabilities.
Subjects include:
- Electronic Surveillance Overview
- Surveillance Devices
- Equipment and Wiring Risks
- Mobile Telephone Interception
- Defensive Tactics & Intelligence
- 1st Response actions to a potential surveillance threat
- Hiring a TSCM Team
- Detection Equipment & Training
At the completion of the half day course participants will have gained the required knowledge to act as 1st responders to a potential electronic surveillance threat.
ESD is currently offering courses monthly with a minimum of 6 participants in Cairns. On-site courses may be conducted by request, throughout the Asia-Pacific.
ESD recommends groups do not exceed 10 persons for any one course.
